Liverpool's Karius Completes Loan Switch to Union Berlin

English Premier League champion, Liverpool, has announced that its German substitute goalkeeper Loris Karius has moved to the German Union Berlin on loan until the end of 2021 season.

"I am looking forward to my new opportunity in Berlin, and I am happy to play again in the Bundesliga", said Karius who had started his career at Manchester City's English academy.

The stopper, 27 years, has played 49 games for the Reds in various competitions for 2 seasons, since moving to Merseyside from FSV Mainz 05 back in the summer of 2016, and has been training with Jürgen Klopp's squad during the build-up to 2020-21.

Karius got famous after the 2018 UEFA Champions League Final, for he had committed a series of fatal errors that led to Liverpool losing to Real Madrid 1-3 in Ukraine.

Returning to his homeland, Karius, will link up with Reds striker Taiwo Awoniyi at Union Berlin, according to Liverpool's official website.

He had spent the previous two years 2018-2020, with Besiktas on loan, making 67 appearances for the Turkish club over the course of his stay.
