Liverpool and Arsenal continued their build-up for Monday's clash, a match to be played at the Anfield stadium in the third round of the English Premier League.

Liverpool's coach the German Jürgen Klopp, confirmed that the team's captain Jordan Henderson will not catch up with tomorrow's match against Arsenal, as he has not recovered from his injury yet.

Center back Joel Matip, will also miss the match against Arsenal due to injury as well, while Joe Gomez had returned to training on Friday after missing the Reds’ previous two matches due to a minor injury.

Newly signed Thiago Alcantara could make his first start for the Reds against Arsenal at Anfield on Monday, After the Spain midfielder debuted for the club as a half-time substitute during last weekend’s 2-0 win over Chelsea.

On the other hand, Calum Chambers, Pablo Marí, Gabriel Martinelli and Shkodran Mustafi from Arsenal had been confirmed to miss the awaited clash, while doubts still remain about the readiness of Cédric Soares and Kieran Tierney, who missed the Leicester City Cup match in the Carabao Cup last week.

Arsenal had won the last two games against Liverpool, however Mikel Arteta stressed the difficulty of the match that awaits the Gunners tomorrow.

The Spanish coach said: "Liverpool has reached its current position in the English Premier League through the continuous superiority of its players in all technical aspects, so we know that a difficult match awaits us."

"We need to be in our best shape, I hope my players will be at the top of their game.", he added.
