Egypt -Senegal Encounters‘ History:
The first encounter was in the group stage of the 1986 AFCON as Senegal clinched a 1-0 win
In 1987, both teams clashed once again as the Pharaohs won 1-0. Ten years later, they played two games in the AFCON qualifiers as they held a goalless draw in the first leg, while the second leg was in Cairo, where the Pharaohs won 2-0.
In 2000, Egypt defeated Senegal in AFCON with an unanswered goal. The six encounter was in the 2002 AFCON, in which Teranga Lions clinched their second win in the group stage.
Then, Egypt won two friendlies in 2003 (1-0), and 2005 (4-2).
Both teams met once again in the 2006 AFCON in Cairo, where Egypt defeated Senegal 2-1.
Both clashed in 2014 AFCON qualifiers, in which Senegal defeated Egypt 2-0, before repeating their win once again in the second with a 1-0 win.
