The release date for Irish actor Liam Neeson's action-thriller movie "Memory" has been unveiled.

"Memory" is set to premiere in U.S. theaters on April 29, 2022.

The movie follows experienced assassin Alex Lewis (played by Neeson), who after refusing to complete a job that goes against his morals, must quickly hunt down the people who hired him before they or the FBI, find him first.

Lewis is a master at revenge but with his memory beginning to falter, the line between right and wrong begins to blur and he is forced to question his every move.

“Memory” was first announced back in April, with Briarcliff Entertainment acquiring distribution rights in partnership with Open Road Films.

Guy Pearce and Monica Bellucci will also star in the movie.

The movie is written by Dario Scardapane and directed by Martin Campbell. Producers are Cathy Schulman, Moshe Diamant, Rupert Maconick, Michael Heimler, and Arthur Sarkissian.

Executive producers are Teddy Schwarzman, Peter Bouckaert, Ben Stillman, James Masciello, Rudy Durand, Matthew Sidari, and Tom Ortenberg.

Liam Neeson

Earlier this year, Neeson announced that his plans to retire from action genre movies after two more planned movies.

Following 2008’s Taken, the Irish actor experienced a career renaissance playing variations of the hardened hero seeking justice his own way, from “Non-Stop” to “Cold Pursuit” to this year’s “The Marksman”.

In a statement to ET, the knighted Northern Irishman stated: “Oh, yeah. I think so. I’m 68 and a half. 69 this year. There’s a couple more I’m going to do this year – hopefully, COVID allowing us – there’s a couple in the pipeline and, then I think that will probably be it. Well, unless I’m on a Zimmer frame or something.”

“I love doing ’em. I love beating up guys half my age,” he added.

Neeson admitted that he had something of a revelation while filming his next movie “Blacklight”.

He highlighted that he finished a new movie in Australia and was in a young actor called Taylor, pointing that halfway in the fight he looked up, noting he was breathless, while it didn’t cost him anything.

Neeson added that he asked Taylor of his age, to which he said ’25.’, which was the age of the actor’s eldest son.
