Oscar nominee Liam Neeson announced Thursday that he plans on retiring from action genre movies after two more planned movies.

Following 2008's Taken, Neeson experienced a career renaissance playing variations of the hardened hero seeking justice his own way, from "Non-Stop" to "Cold Pursuit" to this year's "The Marksman".

In a statement to ET, the knighted Northern Irishman stated: "Oh, yeah. I think so. I'm 68 and a half. 69 this year. There's a couple more I'm going to do this year – hopefully, COVID allowing us – there's a couple in the pipeline and, then I think that will probably be it. Well, unless I'm on a Zimmer frame or something."

"I love doing 'em. I love beating up guys half my age," he added.

"The Marksman" sees Neeson as an ex-Marine turned reclusive rancher who must protect an 11-year-old boy from drug cartel assassins. The Marksman is in theaters Friday.

The knighted Northern Irishman admitted that he had something of a revelation while filming his next movie "Blacklight".

He highlighted that he finished a new movie in Australia and was in a young actor called Taylor, pointing that halfway in the fight he looked up, noting he was breathless, while it didn't cost him anything.

Neeson added that he asked Taylor of his age, to which he said '25.', which was the age of the actor's eldest son.
