Lebanon Dismisses Reports on Bombing French Embassy

Today, the Internal Security Forces in Lebanon denied that the French embassy in Beirut had been subjected to a bomb thrown by unknown persons on Friday evening.

 

“Some social media websites reported that a bomb had been thrown at the French Embassy in Beirut,” the Security Forces Agency wrote on Twitter. "The Lebanon’s security forces strongly deny this news.”

Recently, some regions witnessed sit-ins protesting against the re-publication of cartoons insulting the Prophet Muhammad, chanting shouts against France.

French President Emmanuel Macron said on Wednesday that France would not abandon "cartoons" following the killing of a French teacher on October 16th for displaying cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad.
