Lebanese Diva Magda El Roumi Performs at Conclusion of 30th Edition of Arab Music Festival in Cairo

The 30th edition of Arab Music Festival and Conference has concluded in Cairo.

On the Fountain Theater, Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture, Dr. Magdy Saber, President of the Egyptian Opera House, and Jehan Morsi, Director of the Arab Music Festival and Conference, handed over the awards to the winners of competition, which bears the name of Dr. Ratiba El Hefny.

Dr. Abdel Dayem confirmed that the festival is one of the distinguished gatherings of Arab creativity.

She indicated that the festival has succeeded throughout its history in gathering an elite of music and singing stars in Egypt, as it is the mecca of culture and arts in the Arab region.

The festival mirrors an image of the state’s efforts to emphasize civilizational leadership and preserve identity, and offered congratulations to the winners and urged them to continue to make efforts to achieve their ambitions and dreams.

Then the Lebanese pa Magda El Roumi paid tribute to Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture, and Dr. Magdy Saber, president of the Egyptian Opera House and all those in charge of the festival.

El Roumi declared her deep love for Egypt and prayed to God to protect her and preserve her from intrigue.

And she affirmed her love for the opera and her happiness by participating in the events, as she dedicated the ceremony to the name of the late musician, Dr. Jamal Salama.

She said that his works will remain immortal and will be remembered by the audience for many years.

After that, accompanied by a musical orchestra led by Maestro Nader Abbasi, she told a legendary story that included chapters of her distinguished works that gave her the title of “Angel of Tarab (rapture).

She performed a number of her well-famed songs admired by Arab audience such as " Come to do the good for your homeland during which she embraced the Egyptian flag and aroused the patriotic enthusiasm of the audience who interacted with that song.
