The invisible man is an American Mystery/Sci-fi movie that was produced in 2020. Its development began in 2006.

In 2016, the project was revived as part of Universal's shared cinematic universe, however, the development on all projects was halted after "The Mummy" received bad critics and failed financially following its release in 2017.

In early 2019, the studio changed its plans from the cinematic universe to inpidual films, and the project resumed development.

The movie follows a woman who escapes from an abusive relationship with the aid of her sister and their childhood friend, however, after the apparent suicide of her abusive and wealthy boyfriend, she believes that she is being stalked by him after acquiring the ability to become invisible.

The Invisible Man became a commercial success, as it grossed over $124 million worldwide against its $7 million budget. The movie is currently the fifth highest-grossing film of 2020.

The movie became available digitally just three weeks after its theatrical release, due to the coronavirus pandemic closing theaters across the globe.

It scored 91% from Rotten Tomatoes, 7.3/10 from IMDb, and 71% from Metacritic, while 87% of Google users liked it.

One of the most trusted measurements of quality for Movies & TV, Rotten Tomatoes’s critical consensus reads, “Smart, well-acted, and above all scary, The Invisible Man proves that sometimes, the classic source material for a fresh reboot can be hiding in plain sight.”.
