On Tuesday, Ukraine announced that it had "finally" installed an advanced German artillery system, the latest supply of the long-range precision weapons it had requested.

"The Panzerhaubitze 2000 is now part of the Ukrainian artillery's 155mm howitzer armament," Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov posted on social media, thanking his German counterpart Christine Lambrecht.

Germany announced last month that it would send seven self-propelled howitzers to Ukraine, as part of an increase in heavy weapon exports to assist Kyiv in fighting Russia's incursion.

All seven howitzers promised by Germany have arrived in Ukraine, according to a source in Ukraine's embassy in Berlin.

The German army possesses approximately 100 howitzer 2000s, but only 40 are combat ready.

The US, France, and other Ukraine allies have promised more heavy armament delivery to Kyiv, with deliveries from Washington expected this month.

The West has delivered arms to Ukraine to aid the country's struggle against the Kremlin's soldiers, but Kyiv claims it has only received a quarter of what it requires and is demanding more powerful weapons.

Notably, UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss, said today, Tuesday, the country intends to continue transferring arms to Ukraine and to impose sanctions against Russia.

During a speech to the country’s parliament, Truss said it is important to continue supporting Kyiv, as it is about freedom and democracy in Ukraine, as well as in Europe and the whole world.

She added that the UK intends to transfer more weapons, impose more sanctions and support Ukraine.

The foreign secretary indicated that imposing sanctions on Moscow will continue until the complete withdrawal of its forces from Ukrainian territory.
