The Kuwaiti civil aviation authority announced on Monday that direct commercial flights to India will resume on Tuesday.

According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation's quota, both Indian and Kuwaiti carriers will be allowed a total of 768 daily arrivals from Indian locations.

Kuwait Airways, the country's national carrier, began accepting reservations for direct flights from a number of Indian cities on September 7.

The first flights will leave Chennai and Mumbai tomorrow, with one-way prices to Kuwait starting at roughly KD 590. Flights from Cochin and Delhi are also in the same price range and will depart on September 8 and 9.

Last month, the decision to resume flights was made while adhering to COVID-19 rules, but no time schedule for implementation was given.

On the advice of health officials, the Gulf kingdom has banned commercial flights from a number of countries, including India, because to a COVID outbreak. The Kuwaiti directorate general of civil aviation announced in April that all passengers travelling from India, whether directly or via another nation, will be denied entry unless they had spent at least 14 days outside of India.
