Kuwait Summons Egyptian Ambassador over Offensive Remarks

Kuwaiti Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled Al-Jarallah announced Friday that the Egyptian ambassador to Kuwait had been summoned, "in the wake of the offensive remarks that were issued yesterday evening, by the assistant of the Egyptian Minister of Manpower."

The Kuwaiti newspaper "Al-Qabas" stated that the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs "conveyed the country's condemnation, resentment and rejection of such offensive remarks and from an official that targeted Kuwait and its symbols."

Al-Jarallah officially requested the Egyptian authorities to “immediately initiate and take legal measures against the abuses that were issued and refer them for investigation in order to find out the circumstances and reasons.

On his part, the Egyptian ambassador expressed his rejection and condemnation of these abuses against the Gulf Country and its symbols, stressing that he received a call today, Friday, from officials in the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through which they confirmed the Egyptian authorities' determination to take the necessary action against those responsible for these offensive remarks.
