Today. Feb 25, Kuwait is celebrating its 60th National Day since it had gained its independence from the British Empire.

Furthermore, this year's celebrations are the first under the leadership of Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber al-Sabah, Prince of Kuwait and Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmed Al Jaber al-Sabah, Crown Prince.

Meanwhile, Kuwait is also remembering the great efforts of the late Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber al-Sabah, who passed away on 29 September 2020, after long years of national and international achievements at every level.

Due to the outbreak of the coronavirus novel, Kuwait was forced to cancel public events celebrating its National Day.

In the same context, the Covid-19 pandemic would change how Kuwaiti families and citizens would celebrate this year’s National Day, as people are expected to stay home but participate virtually.

It's worth noting that this national celebration marks the end of the British occupation in the 1950s.

This year, Kuwait's National Day celebration was a remarkable one as the country bridged the gap in viewpoints regarding the Gulf crisis, and also built strong relations with the United Arab of Emirates.
