Saudi Arabia decided to withdraw their FIFA 2030 bid, alongside Egypt, Marca reported on Thursday.

One of the major reasons for the latest decision is the emerging and strong chances for Spain and Portugal to capture the rights to organize the tournament due to the increasing pressures for getting the tournament back to Europe.

Egypt announced withdrawal from the joint bid in April, according to The Sun.

Greek Newspaper Kathimerini claimed that the KSA was planning to withdraw because they believe that European nation/s should host the tournament.

Currently, Greece faces a set of challenges, including the necessity of establishing a strong sporting infrastructure to host such an event in only seven years.

There are two bids for hosting the 2030 edition of the prestigious tournament, including the European bid. It includes Spain, Portugal, and Morocco, along with Ukraine.

The other bid is a Latin American one as Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, and Paraguay.
