The Kremlin has denounced the deadly stabbing incident that took place in Nice, France this morning, resulting in the death of 3 persons and the injury of several others.

In an official statement, the Kremlin said that it is "unacceptable to insult religious believers' feelings".

However, it also added it is "unacceptable to kill people".

It is worth mentioning that, the incident took place at about 9 am local time. The suspect was promptly arrested by the police.

A huge police operation is now underway in the city situated on the Mediterranean coast, according to The Mirror.

The city’s mayor, Christian Estrosi, has suggested that the attack was due to terrorism. A police source said a woman was decapitated, according to Reuters.

The attack comes while France is still reeling from the beheading earlier this month of French middle school teacher Samuel Paty by a man of Chechen origin.
