The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Netherlands in Egypt H.E. Han-Maurits Schaapveld said that his country is working alongside the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the Egyptian government to provide a place for youth to innovate.
In his address at the inauguration of EL-Waily Innovation Lab on Sep. 18, the Ambassador of the Netherlands in Egypt said: “The Kingdom of the Netherlands is a proud supporter of this initiative through the PROSPECTS partnership and hopes it will allow all children in Egypt to have the access, skills and desire to improve their prospects.
“We hope this innovation lab will be a place for children, Egyptians, migrants, and refugees, to come, learn and play together,” he noted.
Moreover, H.E. Schaapveld has expressed interest to extend collaborations with the Egyptian government and development partners in the education and entrepreneurial sector.
The project of innovations labs was kickstarted after the coordinators of Meshwary were given a grant from the Netherlands Embassy and the Office of International Cooperation of the Swiss Embassy to allow youth to explore entrepreneurial ideas.
