Twitter has temporarily suspended the account of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Wednesday, in light of the tensions that followed Tehran's missile attacks on US targets in Iraq.

When trying to open his account, a message appears stating, "This account has been temporarily restricted."

In televised statement earlier Wednesday, Khamenei announced that Iran had given its enemy America 'a slap in the face' after targeting two Iraqi bases containing US troops with a dozen of ballistic missiles.

'Last night we slapped them on the face. When it comes to confrontation, military actions of these kinds are not enough. The corrupt presence of the US should come to an end'.

It is worth mentioning that, Iran launched missile attacks on two Iraqi military bases hosting U.S.-led coalition personnel in revenge for the U.S. killing last week of Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani.

At least 80 ‘American terrorists’ were killed in Iranian missile attacks on U.S. targets in Iraq, according to Iran’s state TV.

In his first response after the Iranian attack, U.S. President Donald Trump tweeted, “All is well! missiles launched from Iran at two military bases located in Iraq. Assessment of casualties & damages taking place now. So far, so good!”

He also added that he will deliver a statement on the incident Wednesday morning.

Meanwhile, the White House released a statement about the Iranian attack saying that US President Donald Trump is monitoring the situation.

Moreover, the Pentagon said in a statement: “It is clear that these missiles were launched from Iran and targeted at least two Iraqi military bases hosting U.S. military and coalition personnel at Al-Assad and Irbil.”

“We are working on initial battle damage assessments,” the Pentagon went on saying.
