Kevin Bacon to Play Villain in "Toxic Avenger" Remake

An Emmy Award nominee and SAG Award winner, Kevin Bacon has joined the cast of "The Toxic Avenger" remake of the 1984 movie from schlock movie house Troma Entertainment and Legendary.

The remake will also feature Peter Dinklage, Jacob Tremblay, and Taylour Paige,

Production will take place later in June in Bulgaria with Macon Blair directing, who also penned the movie.

The plot centered around a struggling everyman who is pushed into a vat of toxic waste and transformed into a mutant freak. He is transformed from a shunned outcast to an underdog hero as he races to save his son, friends, and community from the forces of corruption and greed.

Dinklage is cast as the underdog hero, while Bacon will play a villain.

The original movie expanded to three sequels, a stage musical production, a children’s cartoon TV series, and even a Marvel Comic.
