Embattled Harry Potter author JK Rowling will release “The Christmas Pig”, a holiday tale with all new characters for readers ages 8 and up.
Scholastic will publish the book worldwide on October 12, which follows a boy named Jack and a beloved toy (Dur Pig) that goes missing. The boy along with his newest toy, the Christmas Pig (DP’s replacement), decided to embark on a Christmas Eve journey to find Dur Pig.
Rowling is best known for writing the “Harry Potter” fantasy series. She also published detective novels under the penname J.K. Galbraith and such children’s works as “The Ickabog” Her new book will be illustrated by Jim Field.

Scholastic had also published “The Ickabog,” last November, after being serialized online for free as a form of entertainment for kids during the coronavirus lockdown last spring.
According to Publishers Weekly, the original fairy tale became one of the 2020′s bestselling children’s books.
