Jessica Simpson Contracted Coronavirus Last Year

American singer-actress, Jessica Simpson announced in her new essay, "Take The Lead" that she had previously tested positive for coronavirus.

Simpson did not mention a specific date for contracting the deadly virus, but she did reveal that she tested positive for the virus on the same day she began writing her Amazon Original Story.

"This past year has been especially intense for me and so many of you. I started writing this essay on the same day I received a positive test result for COVID-19." she wrote in the caption of her cover book post.

Simpson announced a partnership with Amazon Studios in early December.

"Take the Lead" will be available on April 29, which is part of her partnership with Amazon Studios that she announced in early December,

The deal includes one scripted and one non-scripted TV show based on her 2020 bestselling memoir “Open Book".

Simpson recently released the paperback version of "Open Book" and shared on Sunday an intimate journal entry included in the new version. The bestselling memoir revealed the singer's struggles with addiction, marriage with ex Nick Lachey, and being sexually abused as a child.

Simpson revealed in the memoir that she was sexually abused by the daughter of a family friend when she was six-years-old. She kept the abuse secret for years and did not tell her parents about it until six years after it began.
