Jenna Ortega, Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Mason Gooding, are set to return for the sixth installment of the "Scream" franchise.

Ortega and Barrera made their debut in the horror hit "Scream 5" playing sisters Tara and Sam Carpenter. Barrera’s character is revealed to be the biological daughter of Billy Loomis, the original “Scream” killer played by Skeet Ulrich.

Gooding and Brown starred as twin siblings Chad and Mindy Meeks-Martin, the nephews of Jamie Kennedy’s original “Scream” character Randy Meeks.

“Scream 5” successfully relaunched the franchise when it opened on January 20.

The movie took place twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, a new killer takes the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town’s deadly past.

“Scream 5” saw the return of many beloved characters such as Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott, Courteney Cox’s Gale Weathers, and David Arquette’s Deputy Dewey Riley.

It also featured newcomers Jack Quaid, Dylan Minnette, Kyle Gallner, Sonia Ammar, Mikey Madison, and Reggie Conquest.

The movie was the franchise’s first installment not directed by the late Wes Craven.

The Scream franchise launched in 1996, with writer Williamson and director Craven creating a generation-defining horror movie.

While not much is known about the plot of the movie, it has been revealed the new installment continues with the four survivors of the Ghostface killings leaving the town of Woodsboro behind in an attempt for a fresh start.

Once again, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett will direct, with James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick returning to pen the script.

Project X Entertainment’s Vanderbilt, Paul Neinstein, and William Sherak will produce with Kevin Williamson, who created the franchise 25 years ago will serve as executive producer.

Executive producers also include Silence member Chad Villella and Spyglass’ Gary Barber, and Peter Oillataguerre.

Principal photography is due to occur this summer for a March 31, 2023, theatrical release.
