Today, a Sudanese government source confirmed the arrival of an Israeli delegation to the capital, Khartoum to hold talks on the peace agreement.

The source stated that the delegation would hold talks with the head of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, and Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok.

It also added that the delegation's meetings will include talks with some Sudanese government ministers to discuss political and economic aspects between the two countries.

Earlier, on Monday, the Israel Broadcasting Corporation reported that an Israeli delegation had headed to  Sudan to sign bilateral political and economic agreements between the two countries without mentioning their names.

Last October, Israel and Sudan agreed to establish official relations between them with American mediation, making Khartoum the third Arab country to establish relations with Israel within two months.

This was preceded by a meeting between the ambassadors of Tel Aviv and Khartoum to the United Nations, Gilad Ardan and Omar Siddiq.

Afterwards, the United States, Khartoum and Tel Aviv issued a joint statement on the "historic progress" of peace in the Middle East.

According to the statement, the leaders of Khartoum and Tel Aviv affirmed the establishment of full relations between the two countries and an end to the state of hostility between them.

They also agreed to start economic and trade relations, with the primary focus on agriculture as well as combating terrorism and extremism.
