Palestinian sources said that Israeli warplanes launched airstrikes on the Gaza Strip on Saturday evening, after border demonstrations, for the first time since 2019, injuring more than 40 Palestinians and one Israeli soldier.

The sources said that the raids targeted two Hamas training sites in the central and northern Gaza Strip, after which explosions were heard, but no injuries were reported.

The Ministry of Health stated in a press statement that among the injured were 22 children, while the condition of two was described as serious, one of them a 13-year-old boy with a bullet to the head.

Palestinian sources said that the Israeli army fired live bullets and tear gas canisters at young demonstrators near the security fence east of Gaza.

On the other hand, Israeli sources announced that an Israeli soldier from the Border Police unit was critically wounded in the confrontations that took place with Palestinian youths in the eastern Gaza Strip.
