After two decades in Apple, Designer of iPhone, iMac, and iPod Sir Jonathan Paul "Jony Ive" will quite the US tech firm later this year.

Moreover, Retail chief Angela Ahrendts retired last April, placing more concerns regarding declining iPhone sales.

"After nearly 30 years and countless projects, I am most proud of the lasting work we have done to create a design team, process and culture at Apple that is without peer," Jony said in a statement.

Jony is expected to start a wearable technology firm LoveFrom. Not much is known about the new company, which will be headquartered in Califonia, however, reports revealed that it will introduce products and services beyond design.

Jonathan's most recent designs were Apple's new headquarters and park.

Meantime, Apple said this week that Ive's role in the company would be split again between design team leaders Evans Hankey, who is taking over as vice-president of industrial design and Alan Dye as vice-president of human interface design.

Ive started his career designing toilets, toothbrushes until he presented one of the most successful products in history, the iPhone.

In 1996, the young man became the head of Apple's design workshop. During that period, Apple suffered poor financial conditions and experienced job cuts.

The big leap occurred in 1998 when Apple's founder Steve Jobs and Jonathan introduced the iMac and the iPod three years later.

"If I had a spiritual partner at Apple, it's Jony," Jobs, once said.
