On Thursday, the photo-sharing application Instagram went down for thousands of users worldwide, media agencies reported. Users complained that they can't access their accounts on the application in the morning.

After a few hours, several users reported that they manage to log in to the application, however, other thousands didn't get the services back.

They received only one message, saying: “Sorry, something went wrong. We're working on it and we'll get it fixed as soon as we can."

India was named as one of the most impacted countries around the world with the services outage, in addition, many Indians in cities as Delhi reported that they had some issues with the application through Twitter. The major problem they suffered from was the inability to access their profiles, or accounts. In addition, some users reported that the newsfeed page is not updated.

According to Downdetector, Instagram's issues started at 11:30 am IST time (5:30 am GMT), and the climax of users' complaints was about 12:30 pm IST (6:30 GMT).

Instagram's services were completely restored a few hours on both Android and IOS operating systems at 2:10 pm IST (8:30 am GMT), according to India Today.

The reasons behind such outages are still unclear.
