Egypt Vs. DR Congo (6-3)

The first game between both teams was in 1970 AFCON when Egypt managed to snatch a narrow victory over DR Congo (1.-0).

Ali Abu Gresha, former Pharaohs’ midfielder, was the first Egyptian player to hit Leopards’ net, while former Al-Ahly forward Mohamed Nagi Gedo was the last one to score against DR Congo.

It is worth mentioning that Egypt, the Africa Cup of Nations' most successful side with seven previous titles, managed to defeat Zimbabwe with unanswered one goal in the opening match, while Uganda earned a 2-0 victory over DR Congo. This win put Uganda's Cranes top of Group A in one-goal difference from Pharaohs.
