Indian Mutated COVID-19 Strain Detected in 17 Countries

The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced that the local Indian mutated COVID-19 strain has been detected in 17 countries including seven European states, Euro News reported on Wednesday.

The organization explained that the new strain caused this unstoppable surge in COVID-19 infections. It added that the B.1.617 strain was detected in Greece, Italy, Belgium, and Switzerland.

Currently, India became a new spot of the pandemic outbreak and the first country in the world in recording daily new infections. The state reported 352,991 new infections on Monday, in addition to reporting 2812 new deaths.

India is passing through a critical and heartbreaking state as the medical system in the state has been completely collapsed, in addition to medical supplies have been run out of the country.

It called for aid from various countries to cope with the dramatic outbreak of the virus.
