India Plans to Vaccinate Children against COVID-19 Next September

Randeep Guleria, President of the Indian Institute for Medical Sciences, said that the government plans to launch a campaign to vaccinate children against the Coronavirus (known also as COVID-19) next September.

He pointed out that producers of the vaccines were okayed by the concerned agencies in the country.

He made statements to " NDTV", AN Indian satellite channel, that Zydus Cadila" company has conducted the necessary experiments and it expects an emergency approval of the Indian authorities.

He stressed that trials of "Bharat Biotech" and Covaxin" for children next August or September before they get authorization by government agencies.

He added that he hopes that the Indian authorities will start vaccinating children by next September, which will be a great incentive to cut the chain of transmission.

The Indian government previously has announced ambitious plans to vaccinate all adult citizens in the country by the end of this year.

As of Saturday morning, India had used 427 million 882,261 doses of the anti-corona vaccines.

The health authorities recommend the use of 3 vaccines against the Coronavirus has been approved in India, which are the “Covishield” vaccine made in India and invented by the British-Swedish company “AstraZeneca”, the “Covaxin” vaccine produced by the Indian “Bharat Biotech” company, and the Russian “Sputnik V” vaccine.

Data from the national  Indian Ministry of Health showed that more than 35,000 new cases of coronavirus and 483 deaths had been recorded in the past 24 hours in parts of the country where the western districts reported the highest rate of infection with the deadly virus.

And the Indian Ministry of Health said in a statement published yesterday, Friday that   35 thousand new cases of coronavirus were recorded, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 31.29 million.

According to government data, the statement added that 483 new deaths from the virus were recorded in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths to 419,470.
