Mawaddah Fdn Inaugurates Project to Develop 'Sayeda Aisha' Mosque in Cairo

In the context of the celebration of the Prophet’s birthday, the Mawaddah Foundation, headed by His Eminence Dr. Ali Gomaa, Chairman of the Religious Affairs and Endowments Committee in the House of Representatives (HoR), announced the inauguration of a project to develop Sayeda Aisha Mosque, in a manner befitting the status of the family of Prophet Mohamed ( known also as Ahl Al-Bayt).

Counselor Dr. Samir Jaweed, Secretary-General of the Mawaddah Foundation, said that the Foundation did not find a better occasion than the glorious memory of the birth of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, to announce this important project.

He stressed that the development of the Sayeda Aisha Mosque is the first work of the Foundation to develop the mosques of Ahl Al-Bayt in Egypt in the way that it will befit the status of Ahl al-Bayt in the hearts of Egyptians and Muslims.

Jaweed explained that the development of the mosque includes upgrading it internally as well as upgrading of efficiency, cleanliness, and reconstruction.

The Secretary-General of the Mawaddah Foundation indicated that the largest architectural consultants and specialists in the reconstruction of mosques in the Islamic style, with a religious, archaeological and social character, were hired.

He announced that the Foundation had obtained all the necessary approvals and licenses to start development works, from the concerned authorities, especially the ministries: Endowments, Antiquities and Local Development represented in Cairo Governorate.

He assured that the development operations of the Sayeda Aisha Mosque will be launched on October 30, in the context of the celebration of the Prophet’s birthday.

He explained that the project aims to transform the Sayeda Aisha Mosque and all the mosques of Ahl Al-Bayt in Egypt to become a destination for religious tourism internally and externally, in a manner befitting its position in the hearts of Egyptians and Muslims.

Jaweed revealed that in the framework of the Foundation's keenness to sustain development operations and maintain aesthetic form and cleanliness internally and externally, in a manner befitting the status of Ahl Al-Bayt.

A cooperation protocol was signed with the House of Expertise to supervise the operations, supervision, cleanliness and maintenance, explaining that the House of Expertise will do these works for free and voluntarily out of love of Ahl Al- Bayt.

The Secretary-General of the Mawaddah Foundation indicated that the largest architectural consultants and specialists in the reconstruction of mosques in the Islamic style with a religious, archaeological and social character were hired, headed by the office of late Eng. Hussein Sabbour, and those in charge of it now, Eng. Ahmed Sabbour and Eng. Omar Sabbour.
