Egyptian Muslims performed Eid Al-Fitr's prayers on Thursday at several major mosques nationwide amid strict COVID-19 precautionary measures.

The worshipers abided by the precautionary measures issued by the Committee for the Management of the Coronavirus Crisis during Eid al-Fitr, including maintaining social distance and wearing face masks.

On Wednesday, Egypt announced several anti-COVID-19 health measures to curb the new surge of infections in the country.

Yesterday, Egypt reported 1,180 new coronavirus cases and 61 fatalities. This brings the total number of infections in the country to 239,740, including 14,033 deaths.
