In conjunction with International Youth Day celebrations, the International Labour Organization (ILO) will launch a new report on global youth employment on Thursday 11 August 2022.
The report entitled: Global Employment Trends for Youth 2022 – Investing in transforming futures for young people (GET Youth), is being published on the eve of International Youth Day, which is marked on 12 August every year, according to a statement issued by the UN.
The report shows the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on youth labor market, in countries in different income bands. It analyses the different experiences of young women and men, and highlights specific economic sectors where investment could bring particular benefits for improving the global youth employment situation, the statement noted.
As part of the official celebrations, the Acting Director of the ILO office in Cairo, will additionally give a speech to a number of outstanding youth during an edutainment event for young people at the Theater Hall of Maadi Olympics Center in Cairo on Wednesday.
It’s worth mentioning that World Youth’s Day is an inspiration to promote youth empowerment in society and celebrate their great achievements in different domains as well as their fruitful contributions to the world’s prosperity, translating into dialogues and actions which would encourage us all to build a better world for our youth.
