Hundreds of protestors gathered on Friday, in Tel Aviv, calling on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to resign.

The protestors, who were raising Israeli flags and models of submarines, took to the city of Tel Aviv, to condemn Netanyahu's policy and his ongoing corruption, “Kann” reported.

The submarine’s models were a reference to the scandal of Israeli purchase of German submarines, in which many of Netanyahu’s partners were involved.

Similar protests also took place across Israel, and at Netanyahu’s private home in Caesarea, as this marks the thirtieth week of protests in Israel which call for the PM’s resignation.

On the other hand, Israel had to impose strict lockdown last month, closing schools and nonessential businesses to combat surging cases of the coronavirus, the Times of Israel reported.

The Prime Minister has blamed the British variant of the virus for the booming surge in virus cases in Israel.

“We are in the midst of a global pandemic that is spreading at record speed with the British mutation. It has reached Israel and claimed many lives. We must immediately impose a full closure. I have no doubt that the government will approve it and the Knesset must pass it immediately,” he said. “Every hour that we delay, the disease spreads even quicker.”
