Hundreds of Egyptian citizens have flocked earlier today Sunday to the Central Department of Laboratories at the Ministry of Health and Population to undergo Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests for Coronavirus, required for Saudi Arabia’s entry.

Head of the Central Department of Laboratories Nancy El-Gendy noted that the cost of the PCR test is EGP 1,000 for Egyptians, and $70 for non-Egyptians.

The applicants should present the passport and travel ticket to undergo the test.

It is worth mentioning, Saudi Arabia announced that all arrivals from countries that recorded Corona infections should submit PCR certificates proving they are coronavirus-free.

The Health Minister Dr. Hala Zayed said on Saturday that 33 coronavirus cases have been detected on board a Nile cruise ship in Upper Egypt’s Luxor, while 11 others tested positive and would nevertheless be quarantined for two weeks.

The minister added that none of the new cases were showing symptoms of the virus, asserting that Egypt will import 250,000 devices to detect coronavirus. She pointed out that such devices will be distributed to all airports nationwide.

China is trying with all its might to confront the effects resulting from the outbreak of the new Coronavirus via a series of strong and effective measures that seek to reduce the number of deaths and injuries caused by this deadly virus.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that world countries should do more and prepare for a possible pandemic because of the Coronavirus outbreak.
