When winter comes, our cravings for food intensifies. We also face a new kind of hunger, which is nighttime craving!!

Read on to learn about the causes of night hunger and find out how to face the hunger that causes us to weight gain— which is due to all of the stored energy that our bodies save during sleep.

* First reason

Nutritionists attribute the cause of night hunger to the food consumed that lacks access to nutrients, especially protein, minerals, and vitamins needed to warm the body— which is due to the person being busy working outside the home during the day.

* Second reason

The second reason is that many of us forget to drink water in winter, which is extremely important, and here we must distinguish whether if we are hungry or thirsty.

*Third reason

Many people start their day early and eat their three meals early, so the last meal, supper, arrive early in the night, thus, the brain gives out signals of the need for food over late periods of the night.

Nutritionists advise these handy tips for coping with night hunger:

1- Variety of meals— especially dinner—that contains saturated materials such as eggs, beans, lentils, chickpeas, and oats.

2- Eat an apple, as it gives a sense of satiety, helps to regulate the process of digestion and bowel movement, which may enter a stage of laziness during winter.

3- Sometimes the body needs hot soup or Homs Al Sham water, which has little or no calories, contains a variety of nutrients such as onions, garlic, tomatoes, ginger, and chili, as well as give the body energy and warmth it needs, and the feeling of satiety.
