How to Check if WhatsApp is Sharing Your Data with Facebook?

Hours after WhatsApp announced a new privacy policy to the nearly 2 billion people around the world who use it, the rumors flew fast and thick.

Go to the WhatsApp application on your phone.

- Click on the three dots icon in the upper-right corner, then click on the Settings option.

- Click on the “Account” option.

- Click on the option (request account information).

- Click on the “Request report” option, and the status will change on the screen to show “Request sent”.

- The report is usually available about three days after the date you requested it. When the report is ready, you will receive a notification from WhatsApp on your phone that says: your account information report has become available. You will have a month to download it, before you have to repeat the request again.

- After the report has been received; Click on the download report option; A Zip file that includes HTML and JSON files is downloaded to your phone.

- Open the report; then look for the section titled (Terms of Service), which includes a list of terms of service for 2016 , that shows whether or not you agree to share data.

- If you find next to the field (unsubscribe from sharing data) the word “No”, WhatsApp has already been sharing your data with Facebook since 2016. If the word "yes" appears, then you did not agree to share the data at that time.
