History of Al-Ahly-Wydad Encounters

A few hours later, lights will be shed on Mohamed V Stadium, where Al Ahly and Wydad semi-finals clash will take place here is the history of both clubs' encounters in the CAF Champions League. 

The Red Devils secured two unanswered goals in the first leg against the Moroccan club.

Both clubs faced each other eight times before; the Red Devils won in two encounters, and the Moroccan club secured a victory in two clashes, while four other times ended in draws. 

History is as follows: 

CAF Champions League Group Stages in 2011:

The encounters faced each other in Group B in 2011, as the first leg ended in Cairo with a 3-3 draw, while the second tie ended in a 1-1 draw. 

CAF Champions League Group Stages in 2016:

After five years, both clubs faced off once again in Group B, as the first tie ended in a goalless draw in Cairo, while the Red Devils snatched a hard-fought unanswered goal victory over Wyda in the second leg.

CAF Champions League Group Stages in 2017:

one year later, the big two African clubs clashed once again, as the Red Devils pulled off two unanswered goals victory in Cairo in the first leg, whilst the Moroccan club secured a 2-0 win in Casablanca. 

CAF Champions League Finals in 2017:

In the same year, both clubs faced off once again in the final, as the first leg ended in a 1-1 draw in Cairo, whereas current Zamalek's midfielder Ashraf Bencharki netted a precious goal to grant the Moroccan club the title. 

CAF Champions League Semi-Finals:

Ahly pulled off two unanswered goals victory against Wydad on Saturday in the first leg.
