The Higher Education Ministry implemented on Monday the unified central exam for the sectors of pharmaceutical and physical therapy (PT) which aims at measuring the cognitive level of the students.

This came in a report by Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Universities Dr. Mohamed Latif, presented to Higher Education Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar.

The report stressed the importance of generalizing the idea of the exam in health sector colleges, adding that the electronic examinations for medical schools' students at universities come in the implementation of the political leadership's directives to develop the educational system and examinations nationwide.

It pointed out that the final tests would be carried out at the headquarters of each university.

The tests are designed according to the international standards to accurately and effectively measure the capabilities of students in various fields.

The report hailed the success of the two earlier times of implementing the exam at five faculties of medicine and then on 21 medical ones.

The Higher Education Ministry seeks to implement its plan to generalize the tests on 81 faculties in the health sectors in 33 universities including 18 government universities and Al-Azhar University, as well as private universities, bringing the total number of students to 11,600.
