Health Ministry spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said that the total of vaccinations against the coronavirus has reached to 44.2 million doses, so far between first and second doses.

He also stressed that the disappearance of symptoms for a period of 10 days from infection is an indicator of the patient's recovery from the Coronavirus, in accordance with the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) issued on May 27, 2020.

It is worth mentioning that, the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) announced the start of clinical trials for CoviVacc, the country’s first coronavirus vaccine.

In a statement, the authority confirmed that the vaccine is a fruitful outcome of cooperation between the National Research Center and Vaccine Valley Company.
