Head of Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Congratulates Sisi

Head of Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, sent a cable of congratulations to President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, on the 70th anniversary of the July 23 revolution. 

In the cable, Al-Alimi expressed his wishes to President Sisi for permanent good health and happiness, and further progress and prosperity for government and people of Egypt.

Moreover, Head of Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council praised Egypt’s pivotal and steadfast role , in support of the Yemeni people, its political leadership and its republican regime in various stages.

In addition, he also hailed the Yemeni -Egytian historic ties and the promising prospects that await them in various fields, including bilateral coordination regarding all challenges facing Arab national security.

On Saturday, Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi marked the 70th anniversary of the 23 July 1952 Revolution, which turned the country from a hereditary monarchy into a republic.

In a televised speech, Sisi said “The glorious 23 July was a culmination of a long struggle led by the Egyptian people in defense of their right in a homeland whose head is held high."

He added that the revolution managed to establish Egypt’s first republic and radically change life in the country as well as in the region.

The revolution had “inspiring contributions to the global movement of decolonization and consolidating the right of peoples to self-determination,” the president said.

He added that the “flags of freedom and independence rose above most Arab and African countries” following the revolution.

Sisi said the 23rd of July Revolution highlighted the firm and eternal relationship between people and the armed forces that carried the banner of the revolution to achieve independence in the greatest form of challenge and will to uphold the values of justice, pride, and dignity.

The president went on to say that this anniversary gives us lessons in showing ‎determination and will to achieve the aspirations of Egyptians for a bright future ‎that sees next generations live a decent life in a secure, stable and prosperous ‎homeland.

"Our celebration of the great July Revolution is not only because of its role in ‎changing the reality in Egypt but it is also because of its lightning role in our ‎African continent and the Arab region," Sisi said.‎

He asserted that the July 23 revolution triggered Arab and African liberation ‎movements for gaining freedom and independence.‎
