Hayden Panettiere Will Return for "Scream 6"

American actress-singer Hayden Panettiere will reprise her "Scream 4" role of Kirby Reed in the latest installment of the “Scream” franchise.

The character was the lone teenage survivor of the Second Woodsboro Murders in the fourth installment.

Panettiere is set to star alongside Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, and Jenna Ortega, who toplined the recent reboot of the franchise.

Spyglass Media and Paramount Pictures companies resurrected the slasher movie series in January with 2022's "Scream" – also the name of 1996 original that started it all.

The upcoming movie will follow Sam (Barrera), Mindy (Brown), Chad (Gooding), and Tara (Ortega)—four survivors of the most recent batch of Ghostface killings—as they leave the town of Woodsboro behind in an attempt for a fresh start.

Once again, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett will direct, with James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick returning to pen the script.

Project X Entertainment’s Vanderbilt, Paul Neinstein, and William Sherak will produce with Kevin Williamson, who created the franchise 25 years ago will serve as executive producer.

Executive producers also include Silence member Chad Villella and Spyglass’ Gary Barber, and Peter Oillataguerre.

Principal photography will kick off this summer.
