Hawass Awards 3 Excavations Teams “Best Archaeologist in 2021”

Zahi Hawass Center for Egyptology announced the winners of the best archaeologist in 2021 award.

Egyptologist Zahi Hawass granted his annual award in the field of excavations and restoration to Atef al-Dabbah for his efforts in developing Al O'yoon Aqueduct Bridge, Citadel of Saladin, Citadel of Qaitbay, and Monastery of Saint Mina.

Moreover, Afifi Rahim Afifi, head of the excavations team that helped in discovering the Golden City, received the award for his efforts in finding the city.

The third and final winner was Ahmed Muhammad Ali Al-Imam, head of the Egyptian-German mission in Esna Temple (Temple of Khnum). His team made considerable efforts in restoring and showing the colors and inscriptions of the temple.
