Following bombshell announcement made yesterday by the British monarch, Duke and Duchess of Sussex will lose their royal titles and are said to pay back the costs of renovation of frogmore cottage for British taxpayers (£2.4million).

The decisions were taken after the royal couple decided to split from the royal family and spend their time between UK and North America but also take steps toward financial independence.

According to 'Mirror', eight-month-old Archie and parents Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are set to make Canada their permanent home once they leave royal life behind this spring.

The Sussexes have spent most of the past two months at a luxury home on Vancouver Island while talks about 'Megxit' took place behind the scenes and the final arrangements were made this month.

The Queen, 93, issued an emotional statement setting out the terms of Harry and Meghan's departure.

The full statement said: "Following many months of conversations and more recent discussions, I am pleased that together we have found a constructive and supportive way forward for my grandson and his family. "Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved members of my family. I recognised the challenges they have experienced as a result of intense scrutiny over the last two years and support their wish for a more independent life.

"I want to thank them for all their dedicated work across this country, the Commonwealth and beyond, and am particularly proud of how Meghan has so quickly become one of the family.

"It is my whole family's hope that today's agreement allows them to start building a happy and peaceful new life.

"The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are grateful to Her Majesty and the Royal Family for their ongoing support as they embark on the next chapter of their lives.

"As agreed in this new arrangement, they understand that they are required to step back from royal duties, including official military appointments. They will no longer receive public funds for royal duties.

"With The Queen's blessing, the Sussexes will continue to maintain their private patronages and associations; they can no longer formally represent. The Queen, the Sussexes have made clear that everything they do will continue to uphold the values of Her Majesty.

"The Sussexes will not use their HRH titles as they are no longer working members of the Royal Family.

"The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have shared their wish to repay Sovereign Grant expenditure for the refurbishment of Frogmore Cottage, which will remain their UK family home.

The monarch offered the Duke and Duchess of Sussex her full support as they step back as 'senior' royals and split their time between Canada and the UK.

Harry is set to relinquish his military duties as part of a deal thrashed out with the Queen following crisis talks at the Sandringham estate.

A source, who knows the Queen, told the Sunday Times: “She will be very sad to have barely seen Archie and that he will miss out on growing up with his cousins and wider family.”

London-born Archie has only met his great-grandmother the Queen, his grandfather Prince Charles, 71, and cousins Prince George, six, Princess Charlotte, four, and Prince Louis, one, only a handful of times, the report claimed.

On another hand, Harry is expected to travel back to Canada in days to join his Los Angeles-born wife Meghan, 38, and Archie, after spending time in the UK.

There is no indication when the Sussexes will return to the UK as a family, but Meghan is expected to perform royal duties in Britain before the couple become 'ordinary' royals in the spring.

Walking away from the monarchy, Harry and former Suits actress Meghan will stop carrying out royal duties from the spring, no longer use HRH and repay the £2.4million taxpayers spent on fixing up Frogmore Cottage in Windsor.

They will settle in Canada, a Commonwealth country where taxpayers are expected to pick up at least part of the bill for their security.
