Handball: Egypt into World Championship Last 8 after Drawing with Slovenia (25-25)

Host Egypt fought back to draw with Slovenia 25-25 to qualify for the quarter-finals of the 2021 World Men's Handball Championship.

The Slovenian team dominated the first half, securing a 12-8 lead,  before the Egyptian team fought back to lead the game with 25-24, before the Slovenian team netted the equaliser in the last second.

Dinamo Bucharest pivot Mamdouh Hashem, veteran player Ahmed El-Ahmar and promising youngster Ahmed Hesham stood out for Egypt.

Egyptian goalkeeper El Tayar made brilliant saves to prevent Slovenia's players from netting against the Pharaohs.

The Pharaohs have now 7 points.

The Egyptian player Yahia Khaled has been named the best player in the match.
