The first trailer and poster for the highly-anticipated movie "Halloween Kills" were released on Thursday.

“Halloween Kills” picks up following the events of 2018’s "Halloween", which saw Strode dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder 40 years after surviving Michael Myers’ original murder spree.

The production is the 12th movie in the franchise. It is produced by Jason Blum through his Blumhouse Productions banner, alongside Malek Akkad and Bill Block.

The "Halloween Kill"s trailer begins with masked serial killer Michael Myers leaving the burning house of Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis), which caught fire at the end of the 2018 movie.

While Laurie is stuck in the hospital from a knife wound suffered in the first movie, Myers kills a group of firemen who saved him from the flames and practiced other recreational killings.

The footage also showed Laurie, her daughter Karen (Judy Greer), and granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) teaming up to take down the monster who has haunted their family.

The latest sequel in the slasher franchise, which began with 1978’s “Halloween”, will also see Will Patton as Deputy Frank Hawkins, Anthony Michael Hall as Tommy Doyle (who was previously portrayed by Brian Andrews in the original 1978 movie), and Nancy Stephens, who reprises the role of Marion Chambers.

It will also feature Nick Castle, Kyle Richards, Charles Cyphers, Robert Longstreet.

The original 1978 movie introduced the audiences to Myers who wreaks havoc on the town of Haddonfield, Ill., after escaping from prison on Halloween night.

“Halloween Kills” was originally set to be released on October 16, 2020, but it was delayed to Oct. 15, 2021, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

After the massive success of the 2018 movie, two sequels were announced: "Halloween Kills", and the third movie, "Halloween Ends", which is scheduled for release on October 14, 2022.

The movies are written by Green, Danny McBride, and Scott Teems, which will be directed by David Gordon Green.

"Halloween Kills" debuts on October 15.
