The Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN), Antonio Guterres, expressed his shock at the number of Palestinian children killed by Israel over the past year.

The UN Chief stressed the importance of accountability and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the killing of Palestinian children.

In the annual report of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, on children and armed conflict, which records violations against children in conflicts around the world during the past year, Guterres criticized Israel for its repeated attacks on Palestinian children.

The report covered the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation forces over the past year, including the aggression on the Gaza Strip, which led to the killing of a large number of Palestinians, including children.

In just 11 days, in May 2021 during its attack on the Gaza Strip, Israel killed 261 Palestinians, including 67 children and 41 women.
