Guler Called by Erdogan after Turkey's Qualification to 2024 Euro Quarter-Finals

Turkish National team continued their Euro 2025 successes with their qualification for the round of the last 8.

Turkey defeated Austria 2-1 in one of the best games in the round of the last of 16.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan congratulated Youth and Sports Minister Osman Askin Bak, TFF President Mehmet Buyukeksi, Vincenzo Montella, Arda Guler, and Baris Alper Yilmaz.

Erdogan also praised Arda Guler, saying: "Both corners were magnificent. It was as if you told Merih to just receive and shoot. Merih truly did justice to the corners, he received and shot. I kiss you from your eyes."

Erdogan spoke with Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Askin Bak, President of the Turkish Football Federation Mehmet Buyukeksi, National Football Team Coach Vincenzo Montella, and national team players Arda Guler and Baris Alper Yilmaz.

Moreover, the Turkish President congratulated Arda Guler for his performance and said, "The two corners were magnificent. It was as if you told Merih to take and score. Merih really did justice to the corners, he took and scored. I kiss you from your eyes." 

He also spoke with Baris Alper Yilmaz and said, "As a fellow countryman, I expected a goal from you as well. It would have been even more magnificent if you had scored."
