GUC launches “Pharma Canvas” for potential entrepreneurs

GUC recently launched a research competition titled “Pharma Canvas” for potential entrepreneurs among the senior students at faculties of Pharmacy and Biotechnology in cooperation with faculty of Management Technology.

Dr. Hend Elteeby, Assistant Professor at faculty of Pharmacy and one of the supervisors of the competition said that the later came as an empirical approach to “Pharmacy Management” subject taught at the faculty, which tackles entrepreneurship and designing projects.

“The proposals of the candidates were presented and evaluated by a jury committee to measure the extent of innovation as well as the presentation skills of the candidate”, she added.

The students who finished first in the competition are: Cyril Saviola, Daniel Emad, Monica Soliman and Mirna Samir. They were honored by the university and offered the chance to join a program to develop entrepreneurs.

“The winning students were also offered an opportunity to travel to Germany to communicate with businessmen to develop their ideas and future projects, or to join workshops for entrepreneurs”, Elteeby added.

Professor Hadia Hamdy at faculty of Management Technology is another supervisor of the competition. She explained that the participation of students aimed at equipping them with the skills needed for workplace.

“Project management skills are becoming very important for entrepreneurs that will enable better productivity and effective performance”, Hamdy added.
