Egypt’s Grand Mufti, Dr. Shawki Allam, sent a congratulatory telegram to Interior Minister Mahmoud Tawfik, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of National Police Day.
In the telegram, Allam expressed his gratitude to all policemen, who are always ready to sacrifice their lives for the sake of their homeland.

Moreover, the Grand Mufti stressed that all Egyptians appreciate and value the great sacrifices made by the brave men of the army and police to maintain the security and stability of the country, in the face of treachery and terrorist groups.
It is worth mentioning that Tuesday, 25 January marks the 11th anniversary of the 2011 revolution and also marks Police Day, which commemorates a battle fought by police forces in 1952 against British occupation forces in Ismailia City.
