Grand Egyptian Museum Marks 100th anniversary of ILO

CAIRO, Apr 7 (SEE)- Minister of Antiquities Dr. Khaled El Anany, Minister of Manpower Mr. Mohamed Saffan, Eric Ochlan Director of the International Labor Organization Cairo Office and General Atef Miftah supervisor of the Egyptian Grand Museum project and the surrounding area, witnessed the planting of 100 trees at the main façade of Grand Egyptian Museum overlooking the Giza pyramids at the begining the celebrations of International Labor Organization 100 years of its establishment.

El-Anani described the selection of the International Labor Organization of the Egyptian Grand Museum to start the activities of celebrating of establishing the Organization with fantastic vision because the museum overlooks the area of the Giza pyramids from the Old state era and as well as museum symbolizes the modern era to be the fourth pyramid and a great monument. In addition it's Egypt gift to the world to preserve the heritage of mankind.

Major General Atef Miftah reported that the International Labor Organization (ILO) has donated 100 trees to Egypt in celebration of 100th anniversary organization founding and 60 years of its establishment in Africa and Egypt.

Egypt was chosen from 187 member countries of the Organization for the award of 100 trees as one of the first Member States of the Organization. Also, the Egyptian Grand Museum was chosen as one of the world's largest archaeological museums which will include more than 100,000 artifacts from Pharaonic, Greek and Roman times, which will give a great boost to the tourism sector in Egypt. In addition the museum garden that will be planted with trees that were known to the ancient Egyptian.

 

Saffan, gave the start sign of tree planting, with the participation of a group of students from Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport of the Arab States League , students of the Architecture and Environmental Design Department in Alexandria, a number of researchers and faculty members and children with special needs.

The Egyptian Grand Museum is considered the most important Egyptian national project, which be completed in 2020 and overlooks the world's greatest cultural monument in Egypt and world and more than 4000 workers working in the museum at 24 hours.
