GNA Military Commander in the Western Region, Major General Osama Joueili announced his rejection of the oil agreement, describing it as a farce.

"We are waiting for a clear position from the members of the Presidency Council regarding the alleged agreement," Joueili said in a statement.

Earlier on Friday, Field Marshal Haftar announced the resumption of oil production and export "as long as it is not used to finance terrorism."

The Spokesman for the LNA, Major General Ahmed Al-Mismari, said it was agreed on a fair share of Libyan oil revenues that will be shared to serve all Libyans residing in the eastern, western and southern regions alike.

Al-Mismari noted that the committee will consist of Vice President of the Presidency Council, Ahmed Maitiq, Libyan tribal sheikhs, and members of the Libyan House of Representatives.

On Friday, Head of Libyan Petroleum Facilities Guard (PFG) Major General Naji al-Maghribi issued a letter to all ports and oil companies affiliated with the National Oil Corporation (NOC,) allowing the resumption of production and export operations from the fields and ports from Friday.

This came based on the decision of the Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, announced the resumption of oil production and its export, due to necessary conditions and measures.
