Global Finance magazine chose Tarek Amer, Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, among the list of the best central bank governorsfor the year 2022, for the second year in a row and the fourth in the last 6 years.
The magazine said in a statement that the selection of Amer among the list of the best governors was based on a number of criteria that the world’s monetary policy leaders succeeded in achieving, including controlling inflation, achieving economic development goals, currency stability, and interest rates managenet.
The Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt was rated “-A”, along with the governors of the central banks of Bulgaria, Colombia, Georgia, Mauritius, Morocco, New Zealand, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, and Uruguay.
Global Finance said in its statement that the “A” rating was given to central bankers of Brazil, China, India, Paraguay, Peru, South Africa, Sweden, Taiwan, and Vietnam.
It is noteworthy that Global Finance has issued its ranking of central bankers in 101 countries and major regions, including the European Union, Eastern Caribbean, Central African States and West African States since 1994.
